Taxic can only deliver where a minibus taxi route has been switched on for it. Yours hasn't been yet. Here is why we grow one route at a time, what it takes to add a new one, and how you can help bring us to you.
We don't run our own vehicles. Every Taxic delivery rides on a taxi that is already running its daily loop. Where no route is set up yet, there is nobody to carry your order — so we'd rather tell you honestly than take an order we can't deliver.
Three things every area needs first
Each route belongs to a local taxi association. We only switch a route on together with the association that holds it — never around them. Those conversations take time, and they're worth it.
A route is only useful if there are restaurants and shops along it, and drivers trained to handle sealed parcels, custody and cash. We sign them up and onboard them locally.
Rural addresses often aren't on any map. We map the stops and pickup points on each loop by hand, so your parcel is handed over at a place you both know.
How a new area gets switched on
- 01 Grow outward from where we started We started in rural Limpopo, where we live and work. New routes are added next to the ones already running, so drivers, shops and support stay close enough to do the job well.
- 02 Agree it with the association We sit down with the taxi association on the next loop, agree how deliveries work on their route, and only then move ahead.
- 03 Sign up local shops and drivers We bring on the restaurants and stores along the loop and train the drivers who will carry the parcels.
- 04 Switch it on in the app The new zone goes live and the app opens up automatically for everyone inside it — no update needed. Just open Taxic again.
